Editing The Animatic

Editing The Animatic

The past couple of lessons we have been up in the editing suite cutting our animatic. This involved using Final Cut Pro. We selected our track and created our rush bin. For the different elements of our music video, we created several rush bins, one for our band performance and one for our narrative. We then listened to the track and found that some shots worked with the beat and there were certain parts of the song where the beat stood out and we then placed a red marker so we knew where to cut the shots. It was helpful filming the storyboard in order because it made it easier to cut. We decided during the editing to make certain changes, for example we added band performance clips at the beginning during the instrumental because we felt the band weren't included enough. We managed to get a variety of cuts  that cut to the beat as there were elements of the song that went fast and then slow. This is beneficial as it gives the audience something interesting to look at and a variety of shots.
