Third Music Video Idea and Similar Artists

 

For my third idea I decided to again go in a different genre so that I had a wide range of ideas to use and they were not all the same. I chose to use rock/emo for my third idea. The band I envisioned would consist only of men and would have a peculiar name which makes them stand out, so I chose Safar. They are rebellious with an anti-authoritarian attitude and aren't afraid to stand up for what they believe in. They could be seen as having a sexual magnetism as they are 'bad boys' attracting both females and males. They would mainly only wear dark/black clothing to fit with their genre of music and their look of rebellion. They could be known for having peculiar hairstyles or colours which make them stand out. I also envision them having many tattoos. The song I chose is 'Valentine's Day- Linkin Park'

 

Music Video Idea

 

For the music video I imagined cutting between the band, playing in a rough area, for example in a large warehouse or car workshop, and using an elegant ballerina dancing.

The first shot is of an alone ballerina, dressed in black dancing slowly. This is a good way of using very stylistic shots, showing the elegance of the ballerina and the beauty of dance, using close ups of her face and hands while she dances. This works with the song as the song has a slow beginning before speeding up at the chorus. The ballerina gets visibly quicker as the song speeds up. She is darting across the open space, angrier and crazier.

At the chorus we have our first shot of the band, cutting between them singing and the ballerina dancing.

As the song continues the ballerina burns roses on the floor in the shape of a heart, showing her heartbreak fitting with the theme of the song. This is a chance for another stylistic shot of burning rose petals falling in front of the camera. The video is still cutting between the band and the ballerina, quicker now as the video reaches it's climax.

We see the ballerina picking up a gasoline can and pouring it all over the open space. There is then a slow motion shot of her lighting a match and holding it in front her face watching it burn before she drops it on the floor. We could use a slow motion shot of the match dropping to the floor.
